Turn Into A Cooling System!

Macbook Story Time!

I want this laptop cover. If you’re in need of storing/hiding your laptop, you can just shelf it into your bookshelf. Freaking ninja-like. Freaking awesome.

You can probably even trick your parental units, or professor, by making them think that you’re studying… although they might question you on why you’re reading the book side-ways.

Wavee

At wavee.com, you can purchase bids for about $0.75 each, which gives you $0.01 to bid on products they have on the site. Lets say you win the bid at $3.50. Once you win, you can then purchase the product for $3.50. So it is up to you to weigh the odds whether it is worth the money to purchase the bids, and then bid on those particular items. In turn, wavee gets 350x$0.75, $262.50, ALONE from the purchase of bids PLUS $3.50.
Result, it is a pretty much win-win situation. They get more profit from bids (i.e. the product may cost $100.00, but make $200.00 from bids and purchases), while you can buy the product for about $50.00.

What do you think? Is it worth the gamble?

Acronis True Image

Do you lose all your shit all the time? All your data gets lost because you dropped your laptop at the study lounge? Well, your in luck! You can make an all-in-one backup with Acronis and save it on your external hard drive.

You can even clone your hard drive to another hard drive. So, in the case when your hard drive fails, you can just put the clone in and then you’d be good to go! But just remember that the clone is an exact image/copy of your drive at the time you did it. So, it may not save your paper that you were working on but hey, at least your computer would be on and you could check your Facebook and Raw

One of the coolest things that you can do with Acronis is make a recovery partition if you don’t have one. So for those of you who do a clean install of just Windows, this will come in handy.

Office 2010 for Windows

Just installed Office 2010 Pro Plus last night and have also been using Outlook 2010 and a little bit of Microsoft Word, here and there. The main change I see in the update is the file tab. It’s a whole new menu. Also, I noticed that the new Outlook is easier to use and looks better as well.

DAMN Facebook emails!!!

And yes, Win 7 is the shit! I love it!!! I just wish it did some OS X stuff.

I Want One, Please!

This would look awesome for my Macbook Pro! Wouldn’t you say so, Iron Man?

One Cool Business Card Holder

If you love Macs, why don’t you just get this Mocbook Card Holder, too? It can also work as a mirror. It’s a little pricy at $26 to $30, but I would still get one. You can purchase one at AppleMirror.

How to SAVE that fu*ked up Harddrive!

Ever had a hard drive crash on you and had all of your files, movies, porn, etc on that drive? Thought you were fu*ked? Yeah, you were. Jk jk jk. There is a 50% chance you could get it all back! Now, I’m not saying that it is a 50% chance all the time, but there’s definitely a chance for a 50% chance.
Here’s what you do. Put your hard drive in the freezer for 10-20 minutes. After that you’ll have a small window of time to move all of your stuff to another hard drive. I’ve done it at work two or three times before and it has worked! But yeah, don’t think that it can save you because it really depends on how bad the hard drive is. Good luck!
How to!

Remove the hard drive from the computer.
Place the hard drive inside of a Ziploc freezer bag. (Don’t buy a cheap bag.)
Place the wrapped hard drive inside of ANOTHER Ziploc freezer bag. (Yes, you need to do this) (see figure 1 below)
Place the double wrapped hard drive in the coldest part of your freezer.
Leave the hard drive in the freezer for 12 hours, at least. You want it good and cold! (see figure 2 below)
Once very chilled, install the hard drive in your computer and start pulling off data. Begin with the most valuable data.
At some point, the hard drive will fail again. When it does, mark the last successfully copied data, pull out the hard drive, double wrap it again and stick it in the Chill Chest for another 12 hours.
You may need to do this a number of times to get all the data you want, or until the hard drive stops working completely.

New* Macbook Pro with Core i5 & i7

Well, the new Core i5 & i7 Macbook has finally come out! They’re the fastest processors on the market for laptops and also save battery life at the same time. They’re about 50% faster than the last gen. of Macbook pro’s and the Core i7 model being about the same speed as the iMac’s Core i7 processor. The graphics are new as well. The Nivida Geforce 330M has a huge bump in the graphics depo. Here are some bench marks.

50% huh??? Check out more here!

What would you do with six monitors

It looks badass and all but there are the gaps between the screens. But other than that, it’s pretty cool.

The Fastest GPU in the world!!!

Looks like AMD isn’t on the top anymore with the coming launch of the GTX 480 & 470. Just look at those specs!!!
Nvidia’s calling the GTX 480 the “fastest video card in the world” with 480 processing cores (ha) and 1.5GB of video RAM. Slightly less ridiculous is the GTX 470 with 448 cores, 1.28GB of RAM and pulling 215W all for $350. Nvidia’s benchmarks show that it’s crushing some of ATI’s 5000 series cards. So yeah, this means that you WoW players out there can play multiple accounts at the same time! But I don’t play so I wouldn’t know… ( I play Xbox 360).

Intel X25-V SSD

The X25-V is the cheapest SSD intel sells. Its cost $125 for 40GB. For that also has a ready speed of 65Mbs and write speed of 110Mbs.  The MTBF is about 1.2 million hours. For that price my OCZ drives in my desktop are a better deal. The OCZ vertex have a read speed of about 200Mbs and write 160Mbs. I have two of them that I run in Raid 0. The speed just jumps i'll do a follow up post maybe this weekend.
