Tim Be Told is a band from Virginia. They combine pop, soul, r&b, and some soft rock. They've beenn described as "Maroon 5 meets Jason Mraz meets Ray Charles meets Elton John." Innnnteresting. Tim Ouyang, the lead singer says he writes about "God, about love, disappointment, disbelief, faith, and hope." Good messages. I've actually met the band and hung out with them a few times, and they're genuinely nice, goofy, and a bit shy. The first song by them that I heard and fell in love with instantly is Ordinary. <youtube link> This is before the days of having a record label and just recording in their room. Oh, and Tim Be Told was only two people then, as opposed to the five people now. I've pretty much watched the band go from nobodys on youtube to touring around the US now. They were even at SXSW in Austin this year!
