The New $100 Bill.

Treasury officials have unveiled the new 100 dollar bill at a news conference at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The first redesign was in 1996, since its first bill that came out in 1928. That version of the bill consisted of watermarks as its primary anti-counterfeiting tool. The new $100 bill is way more than just an some watermarks. It features a security thread that contains a micro-printed mobile image when moved side to side, appears to move up and down, and when moved up and down, appears to move side to side. This new bill will go into circulation next year.

Are you excited? I know the mafias and counterfeiting companies sure aren’t. They’ve got a few years left to pump out counterfeit money before the old bills are replaced entirely by the new ones that have come out!
